Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The hillside vineyards lie between 300 and 400 m a.s.l., predominantly facing south and southwest. Vines are trained using both spurred cordon and Guyot systems.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese. The wine is conceived as a fresh, youthful interpretation of Umbrian Sangiovese for drinking throughout a meal.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand around the end of September. Vinification takes place in stainless steel, with fermentation in contact with the skins for approximately two weeks.
Ageing
The wine remains in stainless-steel tanks for several months before further maturation in bottle.
Technical data
Umbria Rosso Indicazione Geografica Tipica. First vintage: 2003. The 2024 vintage has 14.5% alcohol. Available in 750 ml bottles.
Tasting profile
Brilliant ruby red. Fruity and floral aromas feature cherry and other red fruits. The palate is lively and balanced, ending with a pleasantly fresh, fruity finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16°C. Suitable throughout a meal, particularly with cured meats and cheeses, light pasta dishes, light main courses and lightly to medium-aged cheeses.
Vintage notes
The 2024 growing season was dry overall, with limited rainfall. Winter was cold and dry, while spring was mild but included occasional frosts in April and May. Summer was warmer and drier than average. Cooler conditions, marked day-to-night temperature differences and well-timed rain during the final ripening period supported balanced maturation.
