Vineyard and terroir

Vigna Isca is located in the Isca area of Lapio. Its south-west-facing hillside vineyards lie at 400 m above sea level on clay-and-limestone soils. The vines are trained on an espalier with Guyot pruning, at a density of 3,500 plants per hectare. Yield is 60 quintals per hectare, approximately 1.7 kg per vine.

Grapes

100% Fiano di Avellino.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested manually during the first ten days of October at full ripeness. Following gentle pressing, the must ferments partly in stainless-steel tanks and partly in French durmast oak barriques.

Ageing

Maturation takes place partly in stainless steel and partly in wood, followed by refinement in bottle.

Technical data

Alcohol: 14%. Acidity: 6.2–6.5 g/L.

Tasting profile

Golden yellow in colour. Floral and fruity aromas are joined by aromatic herbs and sweet spices. The palate is complex, balancing softness with acidity.

Vintage notes

The 2022 vintage received Bibenda's 5 Grappoli in the 2025 edition.
