Vineyard and terroir
Amore comes from approximately 2.5 ha with north-east exposure at 200–300 m above sea level. The sedimentary soils contain marine fossils, pebbles and calcareous agglomerations. The 30-year-old vines are trained to double Guyot at 4,500 vines/ha, producing approximately 70 q/ha.
Viticulture is biodynamically inspired. Herbicides and pesticides are not used; fertilisation employs biodynamic preparations, shredded pruning material, and grass-and-legume green manure.
Grapes
Traditional red grapes.
Vinification
The grapes are picked manually in September, approximately 20 days before full maturity to retain freshness and red-fruit character. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place in stainless steel for 20 days at 25–30 °C.
Technical data
Umbria IGT Rosato. Certified organic and identified as vegan.
