Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from more than 20 estate vineyards on high hills, each with its own terroir. The vines are 25 years old on average.

Vinification

More than a quarter of the base wines ferment in small white-oak barrels; the remainder is kept in stainless-steel tanks. Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle.

Ageing

The barrel-fermented portion of the base wines remains in small white-oak barrels for seven months. Following secondary fermentation, the wine ages in bottle for at least 36 months.

Tasting profile

Refined in style.

Label / history

Bellavista began its partnership with Teatro alla Scala in 2004, when the theatre reopened after a lengthy renovation. Its wines were served during the reopening celebrations and at performance premieres. The winery subsequently dedicated a small, one-off collection of wines from rare vintages to La Scala.
