Vineyard and terroir

A traditional Barolo assembled from selected estate vineyards in Castiglione Falletto and Barolo. The parcels have east, west and southwest exposures and clay-limestone soils with traces of sand. Selection after barrel tasting is intended to preserve both the classic character of the vintage and the expression of the individual vineyards.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

Harvest takes place around mid-October. The grapes are picked entirely by hand into small crates. Each vineyard is divided into micro-parcels according to cluster ripeness, and separate passes provide uniform fruit and multiple micro-cuvées from each parcel. These lots remain separate through vinification and maturation.

Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks. It is followed by submerged-cap maceration at controlled temperature for a medium-to-long period of up to 30 days, with the skins held approximately 40–50 cm below the surface.

Ageing

Each micro-cuvée spends at least 18 months in wood. The lots are then tasted, selected and blended. Bottling takes place in June or July, followed by maturation in bottle until release the next year.

Tasting profile

Designed around the typical character of the appellation, with pronounced aromas, ready drinkability and a structure shaped by the vintage. The aromatic profile is broad and persistent, with floral, spice and leather notes, while elegance is balanced by structure.

Label / history

The first vintage was 1996. The wine follows the traditional practice of blending the best vineyard lots rather than presenting a single cru.
