Vineyard and terroir
The Merlot grows in the company's vineyards in the Trevenezie IGT area, which covers all of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto and the province of Trentino in Trentino-Alto Adige. The climate is generally mild, with low rainfall and moderate humidity, which helps the grapes ripen fully while developing rich aromas and refreshing acidity. The vines grow in mineral-rich clay soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, usually in the second half of October. They are destemmed and gently pressed, then macerated on the skins for 10–15 days, with the cap punched down daily to fully extract colour, aromas and tannins. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks. The wine is then filtered and bottled.
Ageing
After bottling the wine rests in the winery's cellar for a further month.
Tasting profile
Refined and full-bodied, with rich aromas and refreshing acidity.
