Vineyard and terroir
The Garblet Sue vineyard is in Castiglione Falletto. It covers approximately 0.7 ha at 250 m above sea level and faces south and southwest. Its fertile, loose soils comprise three distinct layers: clay; clay mixed with limestone; and limestone. Abundant sunlight allows the grapes to ripen fully by mid-October.
Vinification
Harvest begins in mid-October and is carried out by hand. Traditional maceration and fermentation take place at a controlled temperature of 28 °C for 15–20 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for two years in French oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Intense, rich and complex, with a well-structured yet balanced character. Black-fruit and mineral notes are harmonious, supported by lively acidity and soft tannins.
Label / history
Approximately 2,500 bottles are produced each year.
