Storia
Alberto Burzi is a winemaker whose grandparents grew vines in historic vineyards located in some of Barolo's most prestigious crus. Drawing on his passion for wine and attachment to the place where he was born, Alberto started his own business in La Morra, in the heart of the Barolo area.
Terroir
The estate is located in La Morra, in the heart of the Barolo area, in the Langhe. The vineyards farmed by Alberto Burzi include historic sites in some of Barolo's most prestigious crus.
Vinificazione
All seven hectares of vineyards are farmed organically. Both pruning and harvesting are done entirely by hand, with careful work in the vineyard emphasized as part of achieving a great wine.
Alberto Burzi, trained in oenology, works in both the vineyard and the cellar himself. He follows the most traditional approach to vinification, producing wines with great intensity and a character of their own that reflects the bond between the land and the vine. Thoughtful management in the cellar is combined with careful work in the vineyard and respect for nature.
Filosofia
Alberto Burzi's aim is to make wines that clearly express the connection between the land and the vine, with elegance taking the lead over powerful tannins. He holds that a great wine is the result of many small efforts, with the utmost respect for nature, careful work in the vineyard and thoughtful management in the cellar. As he puts it, when he drinks a glass of Barolo, he wants it to taste of Barolo, Langhe and La Morra.
