Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes predominantly from the estate’s youngest vineyards in the Canalicchio Cru, at an average altitude of 300 m. The soils have a marked clay component and are rich in magnesium, iron and manganese. In some years, a small proportion may come from the Montosoli Cru, whose marl soils contribute savoury character and minerality. The vines are trained using spur-pruned cordon and Guyot systems.

Grapes

100% Sangiovese.

Vinification

Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, with gentle pump-overs performed daily. Skin maceration lasts 15–20 days.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12 months in Slavonian oak casks of 50 hl and 25 hl, together with 750 L French oak barrels.

Technical data

The 2024 vintage has 13.5% alcohol. Production comprises 52,006 bottles of 750 ml and 1,397 magnums of 1,500 ml.

Tasting profile

The 2024 is silky and dense, combining crushed black cherry and ripe red-berry fruit with cedar spice, mint and dusty rose. Vibrant acidity and crisp minerality bring lift and precision. The finish remains notably fresh, with tart raspberry and a saline resonance.

Vintage notes

The wine is conceived as a youthful, fruity and versatile expression of the estate’s Sangiovese, produced principally from its younger vineyards. The 2024 combines the elegance of the vintage with density, freshness and mineral definition. Its published drinking window is 2027–2035.

Label / history

The first vintage was made in 1975, when the wine was known as “Red Wine from Brunello vines.”
