Vineyard and terroir

Lambrusco di Sorbara grown on the alluvial plain of the Secchia River in the heart of Emilia-Romagna.

Grapes

100% Lambrusco di Sorbara.

Vinification

Selected Sorbara grapes are harvested exclusively by hand in small crates. Maceration takes place in a refrigerated press, followed by primary alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The bulk wine rests under controlled temperature for at least six months before bottling. Natural secondary fermentation then takes place in bottle at a constant 12°C. The yeasts are retained as a light sediment, which can give the poured wine a slightly cloudy appearance.

Ageing

The 2025 summary gives a minimum of five months on the lees. The vinification description specifies at least six months of pre-bottling refinement, followed by maturation in bottle in contact with the wine’s own yeasts.

Technical data

Lambrusco di Sorbara D.O.C., dry red semi-sparkling wine. Alcohol is 11.5% vol.; total acidity is 8.3 g/L, total malic acid 2.91 g/L and pH 2.94. Sulfites are below 50 mg/L. Available in 750 ml bottles packed six per case.

Tasting profile

Brilliant ruby red with violet reflections, a generous mousse and, when the lees are disturbed, a lightly cloudy appearance. The nose is led by wild strawberry, currant, raspberry and cherry with fresh rose and other floral notes. The dry palate is fine, fruity, savoury, vinous, juicy and pulpy. Its acidity is well integrated, and the persistent finish carries raspberry nuances.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10°C.

Vintage notes

The current page identifies the 2025 vintage and places harvest in the first week of October. The selected technical sheet instead gives the last week of September.
