Label / history
The label depicts Orvieto’s Olmo quarter. Piazza San Giovenale is home to the Romanesque Basilica of San Giovenale, built in 1004 over an earlier Etruscan temple dedicated to Jupiter and subsequently transformed into an early Christian basilica dedicated to Narni’s first bishop. The square also contains the Church of Sant’Agostino, founded by Augustinian friars in 1264 and now used as a branch of the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo.
