Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards planted on the soils known as “Matile.” These yellowish soils contain volcanic material that glints in sunlight. They are very hard but also highly friable and are rich in potassium and trace elements. The line’s white wines are characterized by freshness, marked acidity, minerality and fruit.
Grapes
Pinot Grigio.

Umbria IGP. Dry white wine. Alcohol: 12.5% vol. The vintage presented is 2019.
Tasting profile
Bright straw yellow. Hawthorn blossom accompanies fruit notes of pineapple, pear and grapefruit. The palate balances freshness and savouriness, leading to a notably persistent finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 8 °C. Versatile at the table: suitable as an aperitif and with seafood appetizers, fish-based first courses, flavourful soups and white meats.
Label / history
“Matile” takes its name from the soil type found in the vineyards used for the line. An alternative interpretation associates it with the Etruscan word “Papile,” meaning “able to light up,” evoking the volcanic material that makes the ground sparkle in the sun.
