Umbria IGP dry white wine. Alcohol: 12.5% vol. The listed available vintage is 2019.
Tasting profile
Bright straw yellow. The nose recalls broom blossom, field herbs and sage, accompanied by peach, citrus and exotic fruit. The palate is fresh and generous, offering a broad range of sensations and good persistence.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 8–9 °C. Suitable as an aperitif and with fish first courses, seafood salad, savoury vegetable tarts or white meats.
Label / history
Viognier originated in France’s Rhône Valley. Its introduction there is associated with the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius Probus, who may have brought it from the Balkans. After later returning to prominence, it was adopted by growers in the Orvieto area.
