Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from vineyards in Terricciola at Casanova. The approximately 23 ha of vines are planted at 250 m above sea level with a south-east exposure. The vines average 20 years of age, growing in sandy soil rich in marine sediments.

Grapes

50% Sangiovese and 50% Prugnolo Gentile.

Vinification

The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed without excessive pressure on the berries. Brief contact between must and skins produces a balanced free-run juice. Alcoholic fermentation lasts approximately ten days.

Ageing

Approximately three months on the lees in stainless-steel tanks.

Technical data

Average production is 120,000 bottles. The first vintage was 2012.

Tasting profile

Inspired by the rosés of Provence, the wine combines an intense yet delicate character with floral and fruit aromas, citrus and Mediterranean scrub. The palate is fresh and delicate, with satisfying minerality and broad, enveloping acidity.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 12 °C. A Bordeaux glass is recommended.

Label / history

The Rivetti family created this rosé to express the qualities of Sangiovese and Prugnolo Gentile in a fresh, approachable style.
