Terroir
The estate lies in the hills of Modigliana, between Faenza and Forlì, close to the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine Mountains, at an altitude of 250–500 meters above sea level. The soils are rich in limestone and marl, with a large number of underground streams running beneath them.
Vinificazione
Cabernet Sauvignon from the Ronco delle Ginestre vineyard is used to make the young wine "Massicone."
Filosofia
Castelluccio holds that Sangiovese is a natural expression of the local land, and uses it to make generous, distinctive wines that it describes as having earned an important place among the world's greatest wines. Although Sauvignon Blanc is not a traditional grape in the area, the estate states that at Castelluccio it is able to show all its distinctive qualities.
