Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The selected Vermentino grapes grow along the warm, sunny Tuscan coast. The vineyards lie at 150 m above sea level on stony, sandy soils, and the vines are trained on the Guyot system.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in the first week of September. The grapes undergo traditional fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
Ageing
After bottling, the wine rests for 2 months in the winery's cellars.
Vintage notes
2023: the growing season brought below-average temperatures and frequent rainfall. The vines developed evenly and the grapes ripened fully.
Label / history
The producer, Cecchi, is a family-owned company that was founded in Tuscany in 1893 by the wine broker Luigi Cecchi. Today it is led by the brothers Cesare and Andrea Cecchi. The family does not make Super Tuscan wines. Andrea Cecchi describes the house approach as traditional, avoiding wines weighed down by alcohol and preferring elegance and a long finish.
