Vineyard and terroir
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG comes from Vigna del Lamo, a 3-hectare vineyard planted between 2000 and 2007. It lies in a natural amphitheatre overlooking the Asso Valley at approximately 300 m above sea level, with a southern exposure. The ridge has silty-sandy soil with calcareous components; farther downslope, the soil becomes increasingly silty, calcareous and clayey. The vines are Guyot trained and farmed under a certified organic regime.
Across the estate, fine-textured, stony soils are associated with aromatic concentration, balance, freshness and spice. Pronounced summer temperature shifts characterize the local microclimate.
