Vineyard and terroir
Selenard is an old plot of land in Friuli's eastern hills, among DOC vineyards, acacia woods and oak forests.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. At the winery they are destemmed, crushed and fermented with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of around 28 °C. Skin maceration lasts 10–15 days, depending on the level of extraction wanted, and the grapes are then gently pressed.
Ageing
Each variety is aged separately for 12 months. After blending, the wine spends a further 18 months in French oak barrels, which give it a rounded texture and rich flavour.
Tasting profile
Rounded and well balanced, with a rounded texture and rich flavour.
Label / history
The wine takes its name from Selenard, the old plot of land in the eastern hills of Friuli.
