Vineyard and terroir
The family’s “Grand Cru” vineyard covers just under 2 ha at approximately 420 m above sea level, on the southeastern side of the town. The site receives abundant warm sunshine and has well-drained, sandy and stony soils containing Galestro shale. The old vines were planted in the 1970s and partly renewed in the 1990s. Centuries-old oak woodland and rocky forest surround the vineyard, forming a distinct ecosystem and providing natural protection from outside influences.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum ripeness and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, following traditional methods and using selected yeasts to emphasize the grape’s varietal aromas. Maceration lasts 20–25 days under strictly controlled temperatures.
Ageing
The wine matures for 24 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, followed by at least six months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Rounded and richly fruited, with pronounced structure and the classic character of Brunello di Montalcino. Its natural power is balanced by minerality, while oak maturation adds depth and complexity.
Serving and pairing
Pairs with meat dishes and mature cheeses.
