Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from organic vineyards in Puglia, one of Italy's warmest and sunniest wine regions. Organic farming avoids harsh chemical treatments and concentrates on careful work with soil and vines. The warm, sunny Mediterranean climate lets the grapes ripen fully, giving soft tannins and a rich fruit profile, while the influence of the sea helps keep enough acidity.
Grapes
Primitivo ripens early and builds up sugar quickly, giving full-flavoured wines with a bright berry profile.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in neutral vessels, to preserve the pure fruit character. Malolactic fermentation follows, softening the acidity and giving a rounder, silkier texture.
Ageing
The wine ages for several months in stainless steel tanks and large oak barrels, which add complexity with subtle spice and wood notes.
Tasting profile
Juicy, velvety and generous, with expressive flavours of ripe dark berries, soft tannins and a warm character. The acidity is supported by the sea's influence, and the texture is round and silky. A distinctly modern Primitivo, easy to drink and very food-friendly.
Serving and pairing
Suited to grilled meat.
