Vineyard and terroir
Selected fruit comes from two vineyards, one near Marsala and the other in central Sicily.
Vinification
The wine is made at the Curatolo family winery with the involvement of winemaker Alberto Antonini. Fermentation and skin maceration take place in 500 L stainless-steel tanks at 24–26 °C.
Ageing
Before bottling, the wine rests on its lees for one month.
Label / history
The name “Borgo Selene” refers to Selene, the Greek goddess of the Moon, and reflects the Greek influence on Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean. The Greeks also introduced grapevines to Sicily.
