Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the historic Chianti Classico area, where production follows stricter rules than those for standard Chianti DOCG.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand when they reach optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place on the skins at a controlled temperature of 25–27 °C for 10–12 days, with regular pumping over.
Ageing
The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels of 50 and 30 hectolitres.
Tasting profile
A traditional Chianti with cherry notes on the nose. The palate is long and well balanced, with velvety tannins.
Label / history
The black rooster emblem on the bottle marks the wine as coming from the Chianti Classico subregion. About 60,000 bottles are produced each year.
