Vineyard and terroir
The wine is made entirely from Sangiovese grown in the Villane vineyard at Panzano in Chianti. The site lies at 400 m above sea level, faces southeast to southwest and has clay-limestone soil. The Guyot-trained vineyard is planted at 5,000 vines per hectare and is farmed organically.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese.
Vinification
The grapes were picked by hand on 5 October. Vinification lasted 21 days in stainless-steel vats at a controlled temperature no higher than 27°C.
Ageing
The wine matured for 30 months in large oak barrels and first- and second-use oak barriques. The 2021 vintage was bottled in July 2025.
Technical data
Alcohol: 15%. Total acidity: 5.99 g/L. Net dry extract: 28.7 g/L. Production comprised 2,700 bottles of 750 mL and 100 magnums of 1.5 L.
Tasting profile
Deep red, with an elegant fragrance combining floral and spicy notes. The palate is flavourful, full in texture and gently tannic, leading to a long, intense finish.
Serving and pairing
Recommended with roasted red meat, game and aged cheeses.

This pure Sangiovese was conceived to emphasize the historical importance of the variety, combining traditional processes with modern techniques.
