Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese comes from Ponticello, described as the estate's most prized red-wine vineyard. The site lies at 110 m above sea level with a south-to-southwest exposure. Its alluvial soil is rich in pebbles. Vines are trained to spurred cordon with 8–10 buds, and yield is capped at 8,000 kg/ha.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese. The best bunches are carefully selected for a deliberately limited production.
Vinification
The production data place harvest in early September, whereas the introductory description gives mid-September. The grapes are vinified in stainless-steel vats at a controlled 15–18°C.
Ageing
After vinification, the wine remains on the lees for more than two months to refine its aromas. A further two months of bottle ageing completes the process.
Tasting profile
Bright, delicate pink. The aromatic profile combines sweet and coppery tones with flowers and fruit—redcurrant, gooseberry, grapefruit and lime—before developing rosehip and peony. The palate has pronounced zesty freshness and chalky sapidity, balancing accessibility with finesse.
Serving and pairing
Serve with aperitivo bites, fresh cheese, fish, vegetable dishes, savoury pies or stuffed pizza.
Label / history
First produced in 2019 after extensive trials to identify the estate's most suitable Sangiovese for this style. The wine is dedicated to Maria Grazia Tambroni, mother of the present owner, who purchased the estate in 1997.
