Jacopo Biondi Santi is the great-grandson of the renowned winemaker Ferruccio Biondi Santi of Tenuta Greppo and represents the fifth generation of the Biondi Santi family. He produced his first wines in 1991 at his father's estate, Tenuta Greppo, following his family's winemaking traditions before taking them in a new direction.

After 1996, Jacopo founded his own wine company at Castello di Montepò in Maremma. To determine how well the estate's land was suited to growing grapes and making wine, he hired a team of specialists to study the microclimate and analyze the soils. Their research found the area around the castle to be one of the most suitable places for winemaking.

Today, Jacopo's vineyards grow several grape varieties: Sangiovese, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. His wines are widely recognized and have gained cult status among Italian wines.
