Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come exclusively from Azienda Agricola La Casetta, at the west-facing Negrar Tramanal hillside site in the heart of Valpolicella Classico. The vineyards lie at 230–270 m above sea level on predominantly clay and limestone soils. The vines are 15 years old, with a planting density of 2,500 vines per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-October. After crushing, fermentation takes place at 25–28 °C. Maceration lasts 12 days, with daily continuous pressing programmed at 20-minute intervals.
Ageing
The wine remains in steel tanks until the end of May, followed by 18–24 months in oak barrels and a further 4–6 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The aroma is generous. The palate is full, concentrated and rich.
Label / history
The Domini Veneti range originated in a long-term project to identify selected cru sites and reduce their yields. Its name recalls the period when Valpolicella belonged to the Venetian Republic.
