Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Ronc di Juri vineyard in Buttrio, at 220 m above sea level. The vineyard has marl soils, and the selected plots are planted at a density of 10,000 vines/ha.
Grapes
The Sauvignon vines were brought from France and have been cultivated in Friuli for many years. The best bunches are selected.
Vinification
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in French oak barriques, divided equally between new and one-year-old barrels. Malolactic fermentation is completed entirely in French oak barriques, of which 20% are new and 80% are one year old.
Ageing
The wine matures on its lees for eight months, with bâtonnage two or three times a week.
Tasting profile
Complex and buttery.
Label / history
Both the wine and its namesake vineyard take their name from the family that worked the land for several generations. Ronc di Juri means “Juri’s vineyard”. The wine has been made from Sauvignon Blanc since 1999.
