Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo grows on limestone soils in the Langhe region at 350–380 m above sea level. The vines are 20 years old on average.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand during the first ten days of October and then pressed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures in stainless-steel vats and is bottled in April or May of the year following the harvest.
Label / history
The small family estate dates to 1928. Its 14 ha of vineyards lie in the southern part of Barolo. Elio, his wife Marina and their son Gianluca manage the vineyard and cellar work, with oenologist Piero Ballario as consultant.
