Vineyard and terroir
Produced in Niscemi (CL), from vineyards at 80 m a.s.l. on medium-textured soil tending toward sand. The vines are trained to spurred cordon at 5,900 plants per hectare. Yield is 70 q/ha, and harvest takes place at the end of August.
Grapes
100% Inzolia. Over centuries in Sicily, the variety underwent natural selection that helped preserve aromatic delicacy in the island’s conditions.
Vinification
Vinified in temperature-controlled steel, with malolactic fermentation completed.
Ageing
Six months in steel followed by four months in bottle.
Technical data
Terre Siciliane IGT. First vintage: 2005. A youthful, easy-drinking white available in 0.75 L bottles.
Tasting profile
Straw to pale yellow. The intense nose shows banana, citrus and floral notes. Harmonious and delicate on the palate, with freshness and a pronounced savory quality.
Serving and pairing
Suitable as an aperitif and with assertive flavors. Its principal matches are seafood first and main courses, particularly fried scampi, shrimp and prawns.
