Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown at Niscemi in the province of Caltanissetta. The vineyards lie at 80 m above sea level on medium-textured soil with a sandy tendency. Spurred-cordon vines are planted at 5,900 plants per hectare and yield 85 quintals per hectare.
Grapes
50% Merlot and 50% Syrah. These two international varieties are combined to produce a structured wine that retains elegance and ease of drinking.
Vinification
The first vintage was 2005. Harvest occurs in the first half of September. Vinification and controlled-temperature fermentation take place in steel, and malolactic fermentation is completed.
Ageing
Six months in steel and concrete precede bottling, followed by four months in bottle.

Tasting profile
Ruby red with purple reflections. The broad, intense aroma recalls red fruit and sweet vanilla. Fresh, soft and balanced on the palate, it combines substantial structure with elegance and finishes with complex cocoa and vanilla notes.
Serving and pairing
Ideal with red meat and aged cheeses; it can also accompany substantial fish such as tuna or swordfish.
