Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in vineyards in the province of Agrigento.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in the first week of September. The grapes are destemmed and fermented on the skins for several days at a controlled 22–24 °C, to extract as much colour and tannin as possible. Malolactic fermentation follows, with selected yeasts.
Ageing
The wine is aged in French oak barriques.
Tasting profile
Elegant and well balanced. Nero d'Avola gives characteristic berry and spice notes, with nuances from oak ageing. The barriques add spicy and chocolate notes to the aroma.
