Label / history
Bardolino takes its name from the town on the shores of Lake Garda. Francesco Folonari founded Folonari in 1825 in Valcamonica. The family moved to Brescia, in the foothills of the Alps, in the mid-19th century and established a winery there. Folonari began bottling as well as making wine, an unusual practice in the second half of the 19th century.
