Label / history
Francesco Folonari founded Folonari in 1825 in Valcamonica, in the Veneto region. In the mid-nineteenth century the family moved to Brescia, in the foothills of the Alps. He bottled the wine as well as producing it, which was unusual in the second half of the nineteenth century. His aim was good-quality, affordable wines for everyday drinking, a philosophy the company still follows. The company has vineyards in several Italian regions, including Tuscany, Chianti, Veneto and Bolgheri.
