Label / history
Francesco Folonari founded Folonari in 1825 in Valcamonica, in the Veneto region. In the mid-19th century, he moved with his family to Brescia, at the foot of the Alps, and established a winery there. Folonari both produced and bottled wine, an unusual practice in the second half of the 19th century. His aim was to produce good-quality, affordable wines for everyday drinking, a philosophy the company continues to follow.
