Vineyard and terroir

The fruit grows in steep, mature hillside vineyards planted from 1965 onward between Mango and Santo Stefano Belbo. These elevated, naturally ventilated sites have fine calcareous soils and favorable exposures. Old vines with deep root systems contribute balance, purity and aromatic intensity.

Permanent grass cover and spontaneous vegetation have been maintained for more than five decades. This approach protects soil structure, microbial life and natural equilibrium while encouraging deep rooting, water retention and soil oxygenation. The estate holds organic and Equalitas sustainability certifications. Extensive manual vineyard work and continuing research support soil vitality and biodiversity across the vineyards, fields and surrounding woodland.

Grapes

100% Moscato bianco. The grapes are harvested by hand at full ripeness, when the berries have developed a soft golden color.

Vinification

The Vajra family allows the Moscato additional time on the vine to build depth and character. Each parcel is picked at its ideal point of maturity. The fruit is brought promptly to the winery, gently pressed and fermented in small batches throughout the season, preserving freshness and aromatic definition.

Technical data

The wine is naturally low in alcohol. It is bottled in 0.75 L and 0.375 L formats with Stelvin closures.

Tasting profile

The 2025 opens with pear, apricot and orange blossom, followed by elderflower, white petals and a subtle note of acacia honey. The palate is creamy yet poised, lively and juicy, combining ripe pear and white orchard fruit with floral tones and delicate sweetness. A fine mousse and bright acidity refresh its silky texture. The finish is clean, fragrant and persistent, recalling blossoms and lightly honeyed nuances.

Vintage notes

The 2025 season produced very low yields but fruit of notable quality. A moderately cold January was followed by an early spring, with primroses, almond and apricot blossom and early Nebbiolo budbreak. Abundant rain increased the need for vineyard protection while building water reserves ahead of a very warm June. Several hail events further reduced the crop. Bright days and pronounced day-to-night temperature shifts during harvest helped preserve freshness and precision.
