Label / history
Barbaresco was first produced in 1894 and took its name from the home of its producer, Cantina Sociale di Barbaresco. Agronomist Domizio Cavazza initiated the wine, bringing together the farmers of Cantine di Barbaresco to make a new wine distinct from traditional local Barolo. The venture soon became successful, but its growth ended with the First World War. Piedmontese winemakers revived its traditions four decades later.
