Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

Mosconi comes from the eponymous MeGA in Monforte d’Alba, an area associated here with very fine tannic texture and power tempered by elegance. The finest vines in the vineyard are vinified separately, resulting in a very limited production.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo. The bunches are selected manually during the October harvest.

Vinification

Maceration takes place in stainless-steel tanks for approximately 12 days.

Ageing

The wine matures for 30 months in 700 L barrels that have seen at least four previous uses.

Technical data

The 2020 production comprised 858 numbered bottles. The 2021 release is presented in a 750 ml format.

Tasting profile

A powerful yet elegant Barolo, distinguished by a particularly fine tannic weave.

Serving and pairing

Suitable for red-meat and game main courses, mushroom-based first and main courses, and mature cheeses. The stated cellaring potential is 30 years.

Label / history

The inaugural release was the 2015 vintage.
