Vineyard and terroir

The name “448 s.l.m.” identifies the 448-metre elevation of Cantina Girlan’s historic farmstead. This red blend brings together three principal varieties from the local growing area, whose mineral-rich soils were formed from Ice Age sediments.

Grapes

A blend of the three principal red grape varieties of the growing area. The varieties and their proportions are not specified.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand and delivered in small containers to protect them from excessive pressure. After destemming, the must ferments slowly at a controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation follows in concrete vats.
