Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from southeast-facing vineyards in Mezzane and Tregnano, planted in 2001 at 450 metres above sea level on limestone soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in early October. Selected berries dry on racks for two months before destemming and crushing. Vinification uses délestage; alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place over 15 days in upright steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures for two years in tonneaux and barriques of French Allier oak. After blending, it spends a further year in 20-hectolitre Allier oak barrels and one year in bottle.
Tasting profile
Refined and powerful, with balanced elegance.
