Chi è

Il Greppo is a winery in Tuscany, Italy.

History, winemaking, wines and news for this producer are being prepared. Meanwhile, visit the official website.

Terroir

Il Greppo’s vineyards are situated at Abbadia di Montepulciano in Tuscany.

The exclusively Greppo-sourced 2024 Sangiovese selection records a season marked by prolonged extreme summer heat. The vines responded by limiting fruit ripening, resulting in less body than usual while retaining freshness and balance. No vineyard-specific information is given for elevation, exposure, soils, geology, rainfall or diurnal temperature variation.

Vinificazione

Il Greppo practices organic farming. Organic cultivation and business management conducted under the Equalitas standard are founding requirements for members of the Cuore Nobile farmers’ network.

The Sangiovese selected at Greppo for Obvius Rosso comes from bush-trained (en gobelet) vines. The grapes for the 2024 Chianti Biskero were harvested by hand, although this is a multi-estate wine and the harvesting statement is not broken down by source vineyard.

Filosofia

Il Greppo participates in Cuore Nobile, a network in which small, locally rooted agricultural businesses pool resources, ideas and knowledge to improve resilience and sustainability. The network encompasses grapes and wine alongside olive oil, ancient-grain flour and pasta, truffles, chestnuts, Cinta Senese products and food-and-wine tourism. Its stated objective is the quality of both products and experiences, supported by organic cultivation and Equalitas-standard business management.

Salcheto leads the network’s work in marketing, distribution, and environmental and social values, while the individual members contribute their own agricultural knowledge and products.
