Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Montalcino according to biodynamic principles, without pesticides and in accordance with the waxing and waning phases of the moon.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and crushed. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats without temperature control. The wine is bottled by gravity, without fining or filtration, avoiding the use of mechanical pumps.
Ageing
The wine matures for 36–40 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by further maturation in bottle. Its release is permitted from January of the fifth year after the harvest, although Florio Guerrini releases the wine only when he considers it ready.
Label / history
The 2011 vintage could not officially be released as Brunello. It was therefore named “Trentennale” to commemorate 30 years since the winery produced its first Brunello in 1981.
