Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Valpiana at Massa Marittima in Alta Maremma, Tuscany, at 140–160 metres above sea level.
Grapes
Blend composition varies by vintage. The latest published vintage, 2025, is 100% Sangiovese.
Vinification
The grapes undergo soft pressing and cold static clarification. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of approximately 15°C.
Ageing
The wine matures for six months in stainless-steel tanks on its fine lees, with frequent bâtonnage.
Technical data
The 2025 vintage has 12.5% alcohol by volume. Available formats are 750 ml and 1.5 L. Standard bottles are packed in cartons of three or six, while each magnum has an individual carton.
Tasting profile
The colour is an elegant, delicate pink. The varietal aroma moves harmoniously between floral and fruit notes. A decisive opening on the palate brings surprising volume, followed by pleasant freshness. The wine is savoury and intense, with a full, persistent finish.
Serving and pairing
Pair with delicate cured meats, including Parma ham, San Daniele ham and bresaola, or with fresh cheeses.
Vintage notes
The 2025 growing season alternated markedly between weather patterns: a rainy beginning to spring was followed by a very hot June and a cool July. Heat waves arrived in early August, interspersed with rainy periods that continued through September. Slower ripening called for close monitoring of vine health, but adequate water reserves, limited heat stress and good temperature variation allowed uniformly ripe, high-quality grapes to be harvested.
The wine was Toscana IGT Rosato in 2020 and 2021 and became DOC Maremma Toscana Rosato in 2022. The 2023, 2024 and 2025 releases are identified as organic. The earlier 2020–2021 releases were co-fermented at 16°C and matured for five months on fine lees in stainless steel; from 2023, fermentation is described at approximately 15°C and maturation extends to six months with frequent bâtonnage.
