Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie on the hills of Colli Berici at 50–150 metres above sea level. They face south, on iron-rich red clay soils over limestone subsoils. Abundant sunlight and mineral-rich soils that retain moisture produce wines that are fresh and mineral, yet full-bodied.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and gently destemmed to avoid damaging the skins. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, which help the juice retain the character of the varieties. It lasts around 20–25 days at a controlled temperature.
Ageing
The wine ages for 12 months: 25% in barriques that have already been used three or four times, and 75% in stainless steel tanks. This adds subtle oak notes while preserving the natural freshness of the juice. After blending, the wine spends a further 4 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
Label / history
Inama was the first estate to launch a project of this kind in the Colli Berici area, giving Carmenere an identity of its own. The wine is presented as a new Veneto wine with a distinct personality. The label was designed by Matteo Milano, an artist from Milan. He aimed to show the wine as young and lively while keeping a classic feel and respecting the style of the estate's other labels. It shows a cherub holding a cornucopia from which a bunch of red Carmenere grapes grows.
