Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a dedicated 6-hectare plot on the estate’s north-west-facing slope, surrounded by woodland at 350–400 m above sea level. The soils combine limestone, marl and galestro shale, helping to preserve freshness and aroma and contributing an elegant mineral character.
Grapes
Selected French Chardonnay clones were grafted onto the estate’s existing white varieties in 1987.
Vinification
After harvest, the Chardonnay ferments in small oak barrels, 30% of which are new.
Ageing
The wine ages in extended contact with the finest lees.
Tasting profile
Pure and intense, with freshness, aroma and an elegant mineral character. The structure is carefully balanced.
Vintage notes
In 2023, spring rainfall built up water reserves in the soil. The summer was hot but brought no extreme heatwaves, while occasional rain throughout the growing season kept the vines healthy and supported even grape development.
Label / history
First produced in 1987, the wine has continued to evolve under new leadership while retaining its established style. “Collezione Privata” has since been removed from its name.
