Vineyard and terroir
The estate vineyards lie at 300–480 m above sea level on south- and southwest-facing slopes. The soils are a mix typical of Chianti Classico: limestone, galestro, marl and sandstone. They give the wine its freshness, energy and mineral character.
Vinification
After harvest the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve their fresh aromas.
Ageing
The wine spent 12 months in large oak casks, followed by at least 6 months in bottle, gradually gaining depth and softness.
Tasting profile
Expressive, made in the traditional Chianti Classico style. The blend gives a complex, deep character, yet the wine is remarkably easy to enjoy from the first sip. It is fresh, energetic and mineral. It shows well now and has strong potential to develop.
Serving and pairing
Give it half an hour in a decanter to let the aromas open fully.
Vintage notes
2023 was a well-balanced season. Spring brought enough rain, and the summer was hot but free from extreme temperatures. Periodic rainfall kept the vines healthy and supported even ripening.
