Vineyard and terroir
For the 2020 vintage, the fruit was hand-harvested from high-altitude plots in Barberino. The vines were between 20 and 40 years old.
Vinification
Traditional fermentation and maceration lasted around four weeks, with regular pump-overs and rack-and-return to soften the tannins. Malolactic fermentation followed.
Ageing
The wine aged for 24 months in specially selected French and American barriques, followed by at least two years in bottle in the estate’s underground cellars.
Tasting profile
The 2020 vintage is balanced, complex and elegant, with soft tannins.
