Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the estate’s vineyards on the western edge of the Chianti Classico area. The vines are planted at 350–400 metres above sea level with a south-west exposure.
Vinification
After harvest, the grapes are separated from the stems and seeds. They undergo ten days of skin maceration and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, with délestage and pump-over once daily.
Ageing
The wine matures for one year in French and American oak barrels, 25% of which are new. It is bottled without filtration and then rests in bottle for two years.
Tasting profile
Silky and refined, with depth, power, smoky character and a rich texture. Roasted herbs, blue flowers, damp earth and Tuscan cigars shape its Italian-inflected aromatic profile.
Label / history
Production is limited to a few thousand bottles.
