Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo comes from Castelletto in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba, at 300–380 m. The south-east-facing vineyard was planted in 1948. Its calcareous-marly soil is dominated by sand and silt. Castelletto is a cool hill site influenced by nearby woodland and a small river; its slopes receive sunlight from east through south. The vines ripen slowly, producing wines characterized by elegance, flavour and medium body.
Grapes
