Vineyard and terroir
The vines are between 5 and 25 years old and grow near the town of Kaltern. The vineyards have southern and eastern exposures, with loamy and limestone-gravel soils. A warm climate and marked shifts between daytime and nighttime temperatures during ripening contribute structure while preserving freshness.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and cold-macerated for 12 hours. After pressing, the must settles for natural clarification, then ferments at a controlled temperature of 18–20 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests on fine lees in stainless-steel tanks for three months.
Tasting profile
The wine has good structure and pleasant freshness.
Vintage notes
In 2020, a relatively mild winter was followed by a rainy March and a dry, warm April, leading to slightly earlier flowering. The summer brought no prolonged periods of extreme heat, but the growing season was short. Harvest began in early September and ended on 9 October. The 2020 white wines have appealing acidity.
