Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo grows on the slopes of La Morra, in Piedmont, at an altitude of 350 metres. The vines receive plenty of sunshine and cool air. The soils are sandy clay, which give the grapes both power and finesse.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation is gentle, in steel at a relatively low temperature, to preserve pure flavours and bright fruit.
Ageing
The wine spends two years in large Slavonian casks, which add gentle spice and a velvety texture without masking Nebbiolo's natural elegance. Several more months in steel vats and in bottle follow, letting the wine settle into a balanced, harmonious style.
Tasting profile
Cherry and spice aromas are present even in youth. With age the wine gains depth, with notes of dried fruit, leather and tobacco. The style is balanced and harmonious, with a velvety texture and elegance.
Serving and pairing
Suited to grilled meat, pasta with ragù and mature cheeses.
